Welcome! This section is for the oddball self colored mice in my mousery! Usually these guys are a color I normall do not breed for, but have decided to keep for various reasons. :) Before I introduce you to my mice, let me first explain a few things. Self colors are for the most part, dominate genes. Although Some can be recessive. Black, for example is a dominate color and therefore a dominate gene. On the other hand, silver is a recessive gene to blue. It can be a bit confusing. As a quick refference I broke down each color I bred for and described them in summary. If you want to read and learn more on each specific genetic code and such, please visit my color and genetic sections for much more detailed information.

Self Black - A solid Black mouse. A black mouse usualluy has brownish fur around the genetils and inside the ear.

Dove - A dove mouse can actually be two genetic makeups depending on different club specifics. AFRMA and ECMA view a dove mouse as a pink eyed black, while the MMC views a dove mouse as a blue and chocolate. My doves are pink eyed blacks and stem from my tan lines. My doves are award winning mice and one of my dove does placed best in show at one of the ECMA shows I attended.

Extreame Black - These mice have no brownish fur anywhere on their body. The black is as black as you can get and the fur around the genetials and inside the ear are also jet black. Special thanks to CMM and OSR for helping me start and improve my extreame blacks.

Ivory - Ivory are normally Black Eyed mice whose coat has a yellow tinge to it. They can sometimes be confused with a white mouse until you take a closer loom at their coat. I have bred for Ivory for years and started my line with my mouse Kiara, who also started my blue line. A true Ivory mouse is hard to come across.

Blue - I have bred for blue mice since 2002. A blue mouse can have a dusty grey coat to a very noticable shade of blue. They come in different shades and different breeders may bred for a different shade of blue then another breeder.

Silver - A silver mouse is a pink eyed blue. They are very pretty in my opinion and I love satin silver mice. My silver lines are still a major work in progress. I cancelled my silver line about a year after I started it due to problems with the line. My blues, on the otherhand, were uneffected.

Chocolate - Chocolate can come in different shades of chocolate, same as with the blue gene. The richer the chocolate, the better. You can also have mock chocolate, but that is an entirly different gene.

Champagne - a champagne mouse is a pink eyed chocolate. I personally love the champagne gene. Same as with the dove, different clubs have a different standard for the champagne gene. I am only familar with the gene I breed for, the pink eyed chocolate. My champagnes stem from my chocolate tan lines.

Pink Eyed White - the PEW mouse should be as white as the coat can get and type must be very good in order to really depict a true fancy PEW mouse.

Black Eyed White - the BEW mouse must have a very white coat and black eyes, unlike the PEW mouse who has pink / red eyes.

Black Eyed Cream - this gene is only bred by a few breeders and is still being established. The cream mouse has a cream coat, not white and black eyes.

Cinnamon - cinnamon is roughly agouti and chocolate. The richer the color the better

Recessive Yellow - recessive yellow mice have black eyes and a nice yellow coat. They can look like brindles or have blackened coats as pups, but as they mature their coats will change to a nice yellow color. I specifically bred for Recessive Yellow Satin Angora.

Fawn - fawns typically have pink eyes and a nice yellow coat that is usually a lighter shade then a typical recessive yellow mouse. I bred specifically for fawn satin.

Below you will find pictures and pedigrees (when available) of my current mice. Keep in mind that not all my mice may be posted yet. I do have alot of mice here at the mousery and it is easy to forget a few. Plus.... not every mouse is photogenic!! To see their pedigrees, just click on the picture of the mouse. The mice in these pages are NOT FOR SALE, so please do not even ask. To view available mice, please go to the nursery. I hope you enjoy my mice!
